Drip stone cave Schulerloch, Essing

Schulerloch Essing

The drip stone cave Schulerloch is located in the nature reserve Schulerloch near Essing. Once it served a purpose as shelter for Neanderthals and ice-age animals. The dimensions of the cave halls itself are breathtaking. The largest chamber of the cave, called ''temple room'', or ''druids' temple'' covers a space of 792 square metres and is 8 to 9 metres high. A unique water basin called ''Becherstalagmit'' defines the Schulerloch. No comparable dripstone formation has been discovered worldwide. Let yourself be enchanted by stalactites, stalagmites, highly unusual drip stone formations and the extraordinary atmosphere underground.
