The majestic, 300 metre long castle buildings, which are also referred to as ''gate to the Altmühltal'', rise over the romantic Pappenheim.
In order to get an overview of the family seat of the state succession marshals of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, it's best to do this from the castle hill. From here you also have a beautiful view of Pappenheim's historical town centre.
The castle buildings have been lovingly restored and comprise a magnificent botanical garden, a nature and hunting museum and historical exhibitions, a rich and interesting range of activities for every taste.
